During construction as part of our commitment to keeping the community informed about the Victorian Desalination Project and its progress, we issued regular Works Notifications to provide advance notice of key construction activities, what was involved and contact points for further information. Construction work finished during 2012 in advance of completion of Reliability Testing Finalisation (RTF) in December 2012. Following achievement of that milestone fewer works notifications are expected to be released.

EPA Victoria has given approval to AquaSure to proceed with construction of the marine outlet and diffuser structures for the Victorian Desalination Project.

Accommodating the Victorian Desalination Project workforce, during construction while maintaining the availability and affordability of long-term rental properties and seasonal tourist accommodation in the Bass Coast region was a significant focus for us. AquaSure and its design and construction contractor, Thiess Degrémont, worked closely with Bass Coast Shire Council and local real estate agents on this challenge. Together, we developed the Victorian Desalination Project Housing Accord which was successfully utilised during the construction phase.
